I was 18 when the Columbine Massacre occurred 26 years ago.  It shocked me to my core.  It shocked everyone.  And 26 years later, the school shootings still happen. If it's not bullying, not violent video games, not antidepressants with black box warnings, what is it?  Yes, it is true that some of the shooters had some of those possible contributing factors listed above, but those things are correlations, not causes.  There are plenty of kids doing or engaging in those various things.  What makes these young people want to shoot up schools?  What's the X factor?  What we have here is a failure to properly identify causes because it would break the last taboo in American culture: the parenting style....
